Planning the Perfect Vacation to Fiji

A perfect vacation changes several times over the course of your life. It is kind of like the perfect car, or the perfect home. When I was young, I thought the perfect home would be in the Hollywood Hills. But after living there for 20 years, I wanted nothing more then to get away from Hollywood, Los Angeles, and everything else in California.

White Lamborghini CountachWhen I was a kid, a Lamborghini Countach was my dream car. These days, I prefer something I can see out the windows of… and something where the seat is more then a few inches off the ground. I am more of an Aston Martin guy now. Who knows, in another 20 years I may be a Rolls Royce guy.

The perfect vacation has also evolved. As a child, my perfect vacation was to Disney World in Orlando. Maybe a couple days over at Cocoa Beach playing in the ocean. As I got older, I longed for European vacations. Then, snowboarding in Denver. Now I may have come full circle. No, I don’t want to go to Disney World, but a week on the beach sounds good.

However, a crowded beach in Florida isn’t really my scene. I want something a bit more private. I want something a bit more exclusive. I want something a bit more exotic.

tropical-island-vacationFiji is my dream vacation now. A small cluster of islands located in the south pacific. A sparsely populated tropical paradise. The secluded island life romanticized in films like “The Blue Lagoon” and “Castaway”. Nothing seems better then getting as far away from the stress of day to day life as possible.

Of course Fiji has resorts that cater to all tastes and budgets. I am not looking for that. I don’t want to be stuck in some “backpacker” resort with a bunch of people living in a dorm. I want luxury. I want all-inclusive. I want privacy.

Lucky for me, there is a new site called luxuryresortsfiji.net. This site lets you compare features at some of the top luxury resorts in Fiji, and let’s you pick the resort that is tailored to what you like to do. From the amount of people the resort accommodates, to whether they have private butler service, this site let’s you choose a resort based on how many private beaches it has, or if the booze is included in the “all-inclusive” price.

Fiji really is the ultimate vacation paradise (at least at this point in my life… maybe it will be Mars in 20 years). But picking the right resort in Fiji can make the difference between a vacation of a lifetime, and a holiday from hell. That is why it is always a good idea to do some research before heading out to relax in the south pacific sun.
